What to get right in this category
Size from the preform, not the part
Work the clamping force out from cavity count and projected area. A 48-cavity tool and a 16-cavity tool of the same preform are different machines.
Measure the screw and barrel
PET is abrasive. Screw and barrel wear are measured during inspection and the figures go into the condition report — not just a pass or a fail.
Check the drying train
Preform quality lives and dies on resin drying. Confirm the dryer, hopper and conveying you already have, or add them to the quotation.
Mould and machine together
If you need the preform mould too, quote them as one package so the neck finish, cavitation and shot weight are matched from the start.

Moulds are sourced and priced separately, but we quote them alongside the machine. Tell us the neck finish, preform weight and cavitation and we will price both together.
How do I know the screw is still within tolerance?
Screw and barrel wear are measured during the inspection and the measured figures go into the written condition report, not just a pass or a fail.
What tonnage do I need for preforms?
Preform tonnage follows cavitation and projected area rather than part weight. Send the preform drawing and the cavity count and we will size it for you, free.
